More About Our Center

The Christian Learning Center was founded in August 2000 to meet the needs of families that could not afford quality childcare. While working in Madison County schools for over 10 years the executive director Mrs. Thelma Harden felt and saw the need for quality care in the rural area of Gluckstadt MS.
For over 20 years The Christian Learning Center has been igniting minds and inspiring faith into all that we do. Our students learn how to collaborate and become critical thinkers which are important skills for higher education and the workplace. Equally influential academics are taught from a Christian perspective.
With students representing many area churches, our center is diverse and welcoming to all. We believe education is not the end itself, but it relates to a larger purpose of transmitting the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to take some time to stop by, our doors are always open for personal tours and visits for prospective children and families.

Our Curriculum
Students are taught in Thematic units aided by over 25 other curriculum's including the Active Learning Series. Our center has several additional enrichment guides that our caregivers use to enhance and meet the developmental appropriate needs of each student.

Our Teaching Approach
Our approach to teaching provides for varying interests and abilities. With at least 6 learning centers in our infant classroom and 11 in our toddler/ preschool room. This approach provides an individualized educational environment, while emphasizing creativity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills.

Assessments
We assess all of our students twice per year. Our Preschool students are assessed using the STAR Early Literacy Assessment. This assessment is a standardized, computer-adaptive assessment created by Renaissance Learning. This tool allows our caregivers to identify each student's problem area. This tool is vital to our learning center in order to allow our center to remain focused on individual students' needs.
